Country Market

This new venture for Banham has been a resounding success! A wide variety of stalls from food to craft has attracted plenty of visitors. The stallholders report they were well satisfied with their morning’s sales. Particular attractions to this writer have been the marvellous freshly cooked kippers and the Wagtail Brewery from Old Buckenham. Also there in August was Ian Lane, the ironworker from Rowancroft and Gil Plummer, the excellent picture framer from his workshop at the Zoo. There has been, in addition, a lovely atmosphere about the occasion, as people move around the stalls and exchange leisurely gossip with each other, reminiscent of markets of days gone by!

The event has become a regular feature of the first Saturday in every month from 9am until 1pm in the Banham Community Centre. Any questions to Ray Snow on 01953-860010.
