1st Old Buckenham Scouts

1st Old Buckenham cub scouts are working towards their Global challenge this term. They have already participated in the Oxfam "Biggest Lesson on education for all" and should get into the Guinness Book of records.

Last weekend 21 of them went to the County Cub Camp and represented the Bahamas in true Junkanoo style - banners masks and costume made out of crepe paper in blue and yellow the colours of the Bahamas flag. On Monday evening, although still tired after their exciting activities of the weekend they entered into the village litter pick in the village with their usual enthusiasm. The scout group is extremely proud of each and everyone one of the cubs for doing their best and duty and know the future will be safe in their hands
Summer programme

11th May: AGM Treasure Hunt/Scavenger Hunt at Village Hall

18th May: Evening at scout wood (arrival and departure Village Hall car park)
We will be walking so please dress accordingly

23/24th 25th May: Sandringham Camp

1st June: Cyclist Badge at Village Hall

8th June: Archery at Doe Lane

15th June: Rehearsal (minibeasts) Village Hall

21st June: Sponsored Walk for Diabetes at Sheringham (details later)

22nd June: Abseiling and orienteering at two mile bottom

26th/27th/28th Family Camp at Coltishall or 28th Old Buckenham Air Show

29th June: Rehearsal (minibeasts) Village Hall

4th July Concert at Church

6th July: Scout Wood (meet and depart village hall car park)

13th July: Water activities at two mile bottom

21 cubs from the 1st Old Buckenham Cub pack attended the County Cub camp held at the showground last weekend. Ellie Martin top row extreme left achieved her Silver Scout Award which is the highest award for a Cub Scout. This means she had successfully achieved all her challenge badges and was awarded her Personal Challenge Badge by giving outstanding care to the new 8 year old cubs who had just moved up from Beavers. Ellie, who is one of the group sixers showed excellent personal skills and achievements. The activities they took part in ranged from climbing, archery, shooting, go karts, water fights, circus skills, inflatables and many more.
